The historical of Goleşti Viticulture And Tree Growing Museum

The museum was established in June 7, 1939 by the king Charles II, as the Dinicu Golescu Museum and it has developed over the years with new basic exhibitions that reflect the family history and Argeş cultural and civilization history also.

The law 296 was enacted by I.D.R. under no. 2337 of 1939 and was published in the Official Gazette, p.I, no. 129 of June 7, 1939:

Over the report of the President of the Ministers Council and of the State Secretary Minister at the Department of Interior, of the State Secretary Minister of the Department of Justice and of the State Secretary Minister at the Department of Religion and the Arts no. 10,535 in 1939. Seeing the official Council of Ministers journal no. 1645, June 05, 1939; Seeing the Legislative Council's opinion, no. 294 of May 15, 1939; In terms of 98 Article of the Constitution, we have decreed and decree:

  • It’s declaring of the public and cultural - national interest, the emergency expropriation of the building called "Big Houses", together with the park located in the Goleşti village, Muscel district, the undivided property of Golescu heirs, composed of ground surface of 3ha and 9071 sqm, together with all buildings located on it as provided in the outline plan drawn up by the technical service of the Ministry of Interior. The building is bordered: to the north and east with village road, to south with Colonel Slaniceanu property.
  • This property is expropriated in behalf of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Arts - Historical Monuments Commission - and will be employed for establishing a park and a historical museum that will bear the name of DINICU GOLESCU Museum.
  • The price offered for this expropriation is 1,000,000 for land and constructions and will be paid by the Ministry of Interior.
  • All the formalities of the expropriation before the courts will fulfill by the Ministry of Interior in terms of law in front of the urgent procedure provided in art. 69-78 of the Law of expropiation for the cause of public utility since 1864, as was midificated by the law promulgated by Royal Decree no. 390 of February 4, 1937 and published in Official Gazette No. 29 of 5 February the same year.
  • 1942 - 1943 - building restoration and establishing the initial heritage museum.
  • 1958 - the opening of the memorial section of Dinicu Golescu family and history exhibition representing the events from 1821, 1848 and 1859.
  • 1960 - 1961 - were made repairs and arrangements to all manor’s constructions for a new museum sections.
  • 1962 – was opened Department of Ethnography and Folk Art from Argeş area in a space what totalized 18 rooms.
  • 1963 – in the building where worked the Dinicu Golescu Free School was organized the Department of Pedagogy.
  • 1966 - is set up the Departament of The Viticulture And Tree Growing Museum, that showing the peasant civilization from the mid of nineteenth century from the main fruit-growing and wine-growing areas of the country, designed to include 34 households (18 fruit-growing and 16 wine-growing) and an inn, distribution in the historical provinces comprising 7 fruit growing households and 7 wine-growing households for Oltenia and Muntenia, a wine farm from Dobrogea, 4 wine-growing households for Moldova, 6 wine growing households and 5 fruit growing households for Transylvania.
  • 1980 – It opens The History Exhibition "The place and role of Golescu family in the history of the Romanian people's struggle for independence, national unity, democracy and cultural advancement”.
  • 1992 – It opens The Ethnography and Folk Art Exhibition of Argeş county.
